Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 October 2026

The short version

Bloom keeps your habits on your device. We have no account system, no server that stores your habits, and no way to read what you track.

The one thing that leaves your device is anonymous usage analytics, and you can switch that off in the app at any time.

1. What stays on your device

All of the following is written to your device's local app storage and is never sent to us: your habits, their names, colours and schedules; every completion you log, and your streaks; plant growth stages, nicknames and achievements; your notification preferences and appearance setting.

It is removed when you delete the app, or when you use Delete My Data inside it.

2. Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which parts of Bloom people actually use, we collect anonymous product analytics through PostHog, processed on servers in the United States.

What is sent: which screens are opened, which features are used, whether a habit was created or completed, app version, device model and operating-system version, and a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to you.

What is never sent: your habit names, nicknames, completion history, contacts, location, or anything you type into the app.

You can turn this off completely in Profile → Settings → Share anonymous usage data. When it is off, nothing is transmitted.

3. What we never collect

Bloom has no sign-in and no user accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier, or any payment information.

Bloom is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no paid tiers. One banner advert, served by Google AdMob at the bottom of two screens, pays for the app; it is the only commercial use of your device's data, and it never sees your habits. We do not sell your personal information, and never have.

4. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally by your device. There is no push server, so the content of a reminder — including any habit name it mentions — never leaves your phone.

You choose whether to allow notifications at all, and every category can be changed or silenced in the app or in your device settings.

5. Exporting and deleting your data

Export: About → Export My Data writes your habits and settings to a JSON file and hands it to your device's share sheet. You choose the destination; the file never passes through us.

Delete: Profile → Delete My Data erases everything Bloom has stored on your device and cancels scheduled reminders. Because we hold no account and no copy of your habits, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

6. Storage and security

Your data is stored in your device's standard app storage, protected by your operating system's app sandbox and your device passcode or biometric lock. It is not separately encrypted by Bloom, and it is included in device backups you make through iCloud or Google if you have those enabled — those backups are governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies, not ours.

7. Children

Bloom is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app has no account system and collects no personal identifiers, it stores nothing that would identify a child.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK, California or another region with data-protection rights, those rights apply to the anonymous analytics in section 2 — the only data we process. Switching analytics off in Settings is the most direct way to exercise them.

Because the analytics are not linked to your identity, we are generally unable to locate records relating to a specific person, and may need further information before we can act on a request.

9. Changes and contact

If we change how Bloom handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above, and describe material changes inside the app before they take effect.
