Bloom vs HabitNow: free in full versus a limited free tier
HabitNow is a capable Android tracker with a free tier limited to a handful of habits and a one-time purchase to remove the limit. Bloom removed exactly that kind of limit rather than charging to lift it.
Where HabitNow is the better choice
HabitNow is more flexible about what a habit is. It handles timed habits, counters, subtasks and detailed custom schedules that Bloom does not attempt — Bloom only knows daily, weekdays and specific days of the week. If you want to track “drink 8 glasses” as a counter or run a timer against meditation, HabitNow does that and Bloom does not. Paying once rather than monthly is also a fair model, and better than most of this category.
Where Bloom differs
Bloom has no cap and no unlock to buy. HabitNow’s free tier limits how many habits you can keep.
Bloom runs on iOS as well as Android.
Bloom tracks a simple completion per day, not counters or timers. If you need those, Bloom is the wrong tool and will stay that way.
Bloom shows progress as a plant growing through seven stages rather than as completion percentages.
Which should you pick?
Choose HabitNow if you need counters, timers or complex schedules, and do not mind paying once to pass the free limit. Choose Bloom if your habits are simple yes-or-no and you would rather not meet a limit at all.
